It’s the most technologically advanced 4×4-capable Grand Cherokee ever. The plug-in hybrid powertrain delivers a 470 mile total driving range, getting the equivalent of 56 miles per gallon. 

But don’t worry, you won’t have to sacrifice power. The 2.0L I4 turbo engine boasts a max 375 horsepower, 470 lb-ft of torque, and 6,000 pounds max towing capability.

The Battery Pack

The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is equipped with a 400-volt, 17-kWh EV battery that is mounted underneath the vehicle, packaged under the floor and protected by a series of skid plates. The battery is protected by a special water seal that allows you to traverse up to 24 inches of water without battery damage. To optimize performance, the battery pack system includes a dedicated heating and cooling circuit to keep the battery at its ideal temperature. 

Like many plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, the Grand Cherokee 4xe allows you to customize your drive with three driving modes: Hybrid, Electric, or eSave. 

Hybrid Mode makes the most of the hybrid system. By combining the 2.0L turbo engine and the electric motor, you’ll get maximum horsepower, instant torque and impressive acceleration. 

Electric Mode offers instant torque with nearly zero tailpipe emissions.

eSave reserves battery power by putting the 375-horsepower 2.0L turbo engine to work.
