The 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger vs. Ram 1500 REV: A Comparison Overview

The 2025 Ram 1500 REV and the 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger are innovative and sustainable pickup trucks. While both models share a common electrified platform and a host of features, they cater to different preferences and needs.

The 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger

Exterior Design 

Meet the RAM 1500 Ramcharger, a game-changer in the world of electric pickup trucks. With a Ram brand eye-catching exterior design and equipped with distance-defying electric capability, the all-new 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger delivers superb range and power. This truck features a forward-leaning grille, an electrified R-A-M badge, and an EV-specific premium LED taillight design. 

Performance Specs

This range-extended electric truck works similarly to a plug-in-hybrid vehicle. Built with both a range-defying battery plus generator, the all-new 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger powertrain is a complex mashup of internal combustion and electric propulsion.

It’s equipped with a liquid-cooled 92-kilowatt-hour battery pack paired with a 130-kilowatt generator. The Pentastar 3.6L engine generates mechanical power, which is converted to electrical power by the onboard generator. It works as a range extender for the Ramcharger’s battery pack by powering the on-board generator that converts the energy produced by the gas engine into electricity. 

This setup provides 663 horsepower and 615 pound-feet of torque. The Ramcharger can reach an estimated 145 miles on electricity alone. When combined with a full tank of gas, you’ll enjoy a combined range of 690 miles. Of course, it can still be plugged into a DC fast charger like a normal EV. As an alternative to the Ram REV, the Ramcharger aims to provide a solution for those Ram truck enthusiasts who don’t want to rely solely on batteries to get where they need to be. 

Towing Capacity and Payload 

When properly equipped, the Ram 1500 Ramcharger can tow up to 14,000 pounds and carry a payload of up to 2625 pounds.

The 2025 Ram 1500 REV 

The all-new Ram 1500 REV is the brand’s first-ever all-electric truck, shown initially as a crew-cab model with a short bed. Here’s everything you need to know about this groundbreaking pickup!

Exterior design

The RAM 1500 REV’s exterior design blends modern style with the traditional gas-powered RAM 1500 aesthetic, characterized by sharp accents and intricate sculpting along the sides. At the front, the bold hood and rounded, tall nose are complemented by a stacked, molded bumper and grille design featuring the illuminated RAM name. The headlights are highlighted by upper and lower LED ribbons that converge toward the logo. It will also get a new powered front trunk (frunk) offering best-in-class 15 cu.-ft. of storage.

Performance specs

Strength and performance Ram is known for, and this new electric model is no different. The 168-kilowatt-hour battery pack provides an estimated 350 mile standard driving range. Getting where you need to go is easy with 654 available horsepower and 620 pound-feet of torque.

Charging is fast and convenient, with the ability to add up to 110 miles of range in just 10 minutes using 800-volt DC fast charging at up to 350 kW. 

Towing and Payload Capacity

The REV will be able to tow as much as 14,000 pounds and will have a max payload capacity of 2,625 pounds.
