The Pentastar 3.6L engine generates mechanical power, which is converted to electrical power by the onboard generator. It works as a range extender for the Ramcharger's battery pack by powering the on-board generator that converts the energy produced by the gas engine into electricity. This setup provides 663 horsepower and 615 pound-feet of torque. The Ramcharger can reach an estimated 145 miles on electricity alone. When combined with a full tank of gas, you’ll enjoy a combined range of 690 miles. Of course, it can still be plugged into a DC fast charger like a normal EV. As an alternative to the Ram REV, the Ramcharger aims to provide a solution for those Ram truck enthusiasts who don't want to rely solely on batteries to get where they need to be.
